It is difficult to accept that we are 5 months into this pandemic. When we first posted in mid-March we believed the heroic efforts of sending our workforces home, bolstering the sites our clients continued to operate during the lock down, and digesting a constant stream of information cycles would be temporary. As these uncertainties persist, we are hardening our resolve and imagining new responses to serving our team, and our clients, for a prolonged period of time. We are creating a new reality, one that embraces the new preferences our teams and consumers are developing and the protective measures that will simply be our new normal.
We want to take an opportunity to update you on how Bailiwick continues to serve during this time.
Protecting our employees, clients, and community:
We concluded our initial Return to Workplace (RTW) facility enhancements, as we previously shared. The enhancements include:
Throughout the pandemic, our warehouse, disposition and configuration teams have been reporting to the facilities to perform key operations for our clients. These on-site employees have been diligent in caring for each other and clients to keep projects flowing smoothly. In our own RTW plan, we are welcoming our managed services (help desk and technical support teams) back to the office in September. The remaining Bailiwick family will continue to care for you in a tele-work environment through the end of this year. While we crave in-person collaboration, we are also resolute in our desire to keep our team safe and to allow them the flexibility they need to adapt their personal lives.
Celebrations continue, even during COVID:
As a team, we are celebrating our employees' commitment to each other, and clients, in all the big moments, as well as the daily moments. On the "big" side we are thrilled to celebrate:
We're still innovating!
Staying true to one of our core values of innovation, we are re-imagining how to help you keep your teams and sites safe as well as identify new ways to serve and delight your customers. We are conducting online virtual events (i.e. webinars) to share learning with and through industry experts. Some of our clients, from the biggest organizations have joined the discussion on how they are defending their teams and locations, as well as how they are seeking new ways to serve their clients and grow through this uncertain time. If you are interested in learning from our previous events or want to see whats coming next, check out Carpe Webem, our home for Bailiwick webinars.
As we shared in our last update, we developed and are executing a number of COVID defense and growth strategies with our clients. What does this mean for you? It means you have a partner that knows what you are up against and we have plans to support you. As you consider your next pivot in this year or next, we are here, as always and ready to back your decisions and plans. As you head into your 2021 business planning and budgeting cycles, know that we are here and can help you manufacture, deploy, and maintain a much broader spectrum of solutions than you have classically known us for. Solutions including, but not limited to:
Diligent Care
Our businesses may be different, but the decisions we are being asked to make and the desire to care for our people could not be more similar. As is our relentlessness to keep your business thriving so that you can support this nation. Together we will find our confidence to recover, one human heart and mind at a time.
Thank you,
Your Bailiwick leadership team
As we shared with you in May, we are preparing our minds, culture, and business for a more sustained effort in this current environment. We activated a number of our RTW (Return to Workplace) facility enhancements including:
These enhancements are components of the COVID-19 solutions we are actively designing and deploying for our clients which you can learn more about in the section named "Moving Forward" below. Beyond some of our initial site enhancements we continue to survey our internal organization to ensure we are staying as productive and as focused on customer care as we were in our Pre-COVID state. We are uncovering every rock to ensure we are considering the best data, ideas, and decisions on how to keep our Bailiwickers, our facility, our clients, our partners, and our nation safe, productive, and moving forward together. We are focused on authoring a new post-COVID reality for ourselves and how we serve our clients.
Employee Health
We are proud of our Bailiwickers and the diligence they have shown at keeping themselves and each other healthy and safe by continuing to be smart and consistent in our COVID precautionary measures. The social distancing, cleaning, and preventative measures we are practicing daily are proving to be effective at keeping the Bailiwickers who are in our facilities safe. Keeping our Bailiwickers and our facility safe and secure remains our #1 priority.
Capacity
Our facility continues to operate at full capability. We are actually seeing an increase in activity in our Configuration and Material Management (warehouse services) as we work with our clients to deploy key technology and site enhancements (facial guards/sneeze guards) to get their sites ready for the "great re-open" as states emerge from their "shelter in place/stay at home" orders. We recently completed a lightning round of shipments in support of a facial guard deployment for a key client.
Field Labor
Our field force also continues to operate at full capability. In April alone we saw 6,676 discrete customer site visits, up from 3,428 in April of 2019. We have both capacity and capability in every single state in our nation and in every province in Canada. We are ready to help you as you seek to quickly deploy not just technology, but physical site enhancements like facial guards, touch-free bathroom enhancements, and more.
Moving Forward
Our leadership team adopted a two pronged approach for serving our clients during this time. We call it the "Red team" and the "Green team".
And, now it means that we can not only deploy technology, but we can quickly deploy any manner of site enhancement you are facing. What does that mean specifically? It means we are able to help you manufacture, deploy, and maintain a much broader spectrum of solutions than you have classically known us for. Solutions including, but not limited to:
You can learn more about the COVID-19 "Green" and "Red" solutions we are helping our clients with at our COVID-19 Solutions page.
As an organization we are physically healthy with our teams around this nation. We are financially healthy and able to scale up and be the steady and reliable partner you need as we continue to navigate the waters of this COVID crisis. This is not a temporary environment. It is also not a permanent one. We can help you balance this challenging in between era with smart solutions that can be deployed quickly and that won't break the bank with cost. We stand firm in our commitment to you and to this nation. We will re-start and will move forward. Together.
As we approach our 10th week in this COVID reality it has become clear that this situation will be more prolonged than we initially expected. Perhaps you are feeling the same way. What started as a quick pivot to respond to a pandemic we believed would be temporary is extending to a much larger problem and a much longer road to recovery. Like you, we are preparing our minds, culture, and business for a more sustained effort in this current environment. We are diligently working through our own RTW (Return to Workplace) strategy and carefully surveying our internal organization to ensure we are staying as productive and as focused on customer care as we were in our Pre-COVID state.
As we begin this 10th week, we are grateful and pleased to be able to report that we have not had a single positive COVID case in our Bailiwick family. We are proud of our Bailiwickers and the diligence they have shown at keeping themselves and each other healthy and safe by continuing to be smart and consistent in our COVID precautionary measures. Keeping our Bailiwickers and our facility safe and secure remains our #1 priority.

Your Bailiwick Leadership Team
The COVID challenge continues as we head into the third intense week of our national response to the impact it is having on Americans from coast to coast. As businesses, we are ingesting information at a pace never known before. Then, we are digesting what that new information means to us as individuals, to our employees, to our organizations, and to our fellow Americans. Then we are pivoting our previous actions and decisions and activating on a whole new set of them.
Often times this cycle of ingest, digest, pivot, and activate happens multiple times a week, and perhaps in a given day.
Change is what we are all living on and through each and every day.
What may that mean for you?
Perhaps you are like many retailers, restaurants, and service organizations who are activating a quick-turn solution to create a protective barrier between their employees and the clients who are visiting their locations. "Sneeze Guards" are the new pivot plan, and in order for them to be effective, they must be created and deployed in a matter of weeks.
How is Bailiwick responding to today's flavor of change?
We are activating a "Sneeze Guard" solution for our clients who are maintaining their "essential business" during this crisis. At a high level, what does this entail?
One of our key clients has already activated us to install 19,000+ guards/shields within 2 weeks of early April. Yes, that fast. And that is simply the pace we are all living on
If you need to move this fast, we are here. We can manufacture. We can install. We can answer your call. For more information, feel free to check out a brief overview here or email Scott Wenning.
Moreover, know that we are here and we will continue to be here to support you in whatever new pivot plan you need.
Your Bailiwick Leadership Team
As the impact of COVID-19 continues to reach further into all of our lives and businesses, Bailiwick wants to take a moment to assure you of our current operational status.
Equipment Disposition:
For the foreseeable future, we are prioritizing all materials management staff (Warehouse and configuration) on receiving new product, configuring/consolidating your orders, and shipping your orders to your sites. All other materials management functions, including processing of disposition assets will be secondary priorities. We will continue to process disposition workstreams as staffing and other first priorities permit.
We appreciate your partnership in understanding that during this time of crisis we need to focus on the highest priority tasks that keep your sites operational. We will certainly provide urgent response to unique or high priority disposition activity if you have these requirements. Please notify your project manager should you have an urgent disposition need. All normal business as usual reporting, measurements, and metrics will be suspended until further notice.
Thank you in advance for your support and for your leadership in keeping our nation healthy and moving forward.
Your Bailiwick leadership team.
We are living through a challenging and uncertain time with the expansion of COVID-19 in the US and around the world. These times can make us question how to protect ourselves, our people, our organizations, and the health of our nation. One thing that will never be questioned is our unrelenting care and support of you.
We appreciate the resolve you have shown us in how you are leading through this current environment. We want to share some more information with you on our resolve to protect you, all the Bailiwickers that care for you, and the wellbeing of the technology that will continue to support your brand.
Bailiwick has been planning for this kind of situation through the course of our business continuity plan for many years. At the first sign of the expansion of COVID-19 our leadership team activated this portion of our continuity plan. Like you, we have been monitoring the information provided from our trusted sources of the CDC, WHO, and our US Surgeon General and enacting additional measures every week in response to this information. We continue to carefully scrutinize this information and our response every day.
Maintaining operations and modifying project plans and resources to scale to new demands is what we have built our company on for 25 years. It is our Bailiwick. COVID-19 is a new trigger for the need to scale and pivot in order to deliver success for you and maintain your business operations, and responding to new triggers is simply what we do.
While some of our customers are making the decision, or responding to mandates, to close sites, a number of our clients are being asked to keep going. We know this decision is difficult regardless of the outcome and we are here and able to support either decision: Defer IT related activity or keep going. Bailiwick's status and plan of operation is as follows:
We deeply desire to provide you with the information you need to retain the confidence you have in continuing your operations as normal. We share your commitment to work hard, as we always do. We share your belief that we will overcome this current situation. We stand firm with you in supporting your clients with the goods and services they need to maintain the health and wealth for every American and our nation.
Your Bailiwick leadership team.
